Where did you mount your stereo amp?

I just installed the Uniq 300 watt system. It sounds great and is plenty loud. You can hear it at all speeds, with or without a helmet.
I bought a cig lighter from Harley for $20 that has the plug for Aux plug under the seat. That is powered on by the ignition so that is where my orange wire went and also supplies the ground. After the fact, I ended up buying a dual cig lighter from the auto parts store that I installed direct to battery rather then the HD one, but the plug came in handy for the amp. I wanted 2 lighters. One for Ipod and other for GPS power.
I put the amp in the saddlebag as I leave my bags on. Remember, the amp is not waterproof and neither are the connectors that hook to it. You do have to keep it out of the elements. There is no way there was room under my seat. A leather bag may be your best bet as was mentioned above but I would worry a tad about over heating.

I too was a little worried about overheating in the leather bag....but
I have traveled all day (over 10 hours) in central Texas summer heat and have never had a problem. My amp puts out 150 watts total, 75watts per speaker (2), and am sure it heats up....but not enough to worry about.
Larger amps may have a problem with heat. The little amp I have puts out good power.. can hear music and GPS fine going my max speeed of 80 mph.

Nice clean installs there. Didnt really want to put a leather bag on the windshield but you guys are right about it not being waterproof. so be it if it has to be done. I also plan to get a solo rack for my roll bag and ditch the bags most of the time. so the saddlebag (being the best and cleanest option) Dont seem to good of an idea for me. I see the Heritage as the mr potatohead of softails. You can get many different looks out of it depending what you leave on or take off. Thats why i got it.
