They've said it all. To add insult to injury, the chrome isn't *** good as the stock parts!
You want insane amounts of air, perhaps more than necessary but good looks and chrome?
Arlen Ness Billet Big Sucker. It has a real modern and at the same time old school look. I got the scalloped one. Huge amount of air intake. After half an hour I was totally used the way it juts out slightly farther. Sounds manly. Noticeable power increase across the board.

If I had to pick one, I would go with the pro-series and get/powdercoat the butterfly's red to complete the look.
Just my 2 cents.

Strange as it may seem they do in fact actually hurt your engines performance and the faster you go the worse it gets.
When the butterflys are open all's well, but as soon as you back off the throttle and the butterflys close it starts to breath through slots on the lower rear of the cover.
The problem is that once the speed goes over about 45mph the slots are in the lee of the cover where airflow over the cover is reducing the ambient air pressure right were you want it to remain static.
So while the engine is trying to suck air in through the slots, the lower air pressure over the slots is trying to suck the air out choking off the intake and the faster you go the worse it gets.
It never gets bad enough to truly choke the engine to death.
But that's only because you can never get the bike to go fast enough.
It will just stop going any faster when it just can't get enough air to do so.

Wow. Thanks for all the input. I am reconsidering, somewhat. I did really only want it for looks and not performance. Call me stuck in the muscle era, but I still think stuff like that is cool. As long as it will keeps functioning in the years ahead and does not hurt performance, I still like them.
on second thought, forget what everyone says, your right, they don't hurt performance. Just make sure you do dyno runs before and after so you can see your huge power gains. Make sure you report back here with how satisfied you are with your big purchase and post the dyno sheets to prove everyone wrong cause your the only one right.
I look forward to your post with dyno sheets.
