You think this is a good idea or are people too sleezy to trust, and you think I'll get ripped off having to chase my bikes all over the place to repo?
Finance rates are based on credit history. People with poor credit pay more because they are more likely to default. Unless you are better at judging people's credit worthiness than the banks who make their decisions by comparing a customer's profile to the credit profiles from hundreds of millions of loans every year, you'll probably lose your shirt.

Open the shop, then if you do good, tell me how you did it. Fail, and I'll send you and your family some of my old cans of soup to eat. Sound like a deal?

Default THE way to go

Without question, if you were serious, you should consider starting on EBAY. EBAY motors is the best, low overhead way to sell. I bought a bike that way, and from what i understand, so do many others. Low overhead, high margin.

- no showroom
- little advertising
- third party shipping
- world wide exposure
- making a profit is not in selling, its in buying. If you buy the bikes right, you can sell them and profit.
- must be dedicated to it. Put in the time to build credibility.
- Look into Harley auctions. You can find some late models at good buys.

think about it.

Most banks won't finance a car that is over five years old. You would have find a lender that would do the financing, you could pick up inventory by paying a little more than could be gotten from an HD dealer and from consignment sales. Consignment sales are great because you don't pay for your inventory, you just take a percentage of the sale price. There are specialty lenders, like for muscle cars. I am pre-approved with a muscle car lender, they want ten % down and offer interest rates based on your credit. If you live in a large town you could do very well, IMO.

Don't buy your customer bikes; let them consign them.
Also don't just do bikes. Do ATV's, scooters, and jet ski's.
You could even do snow mobiles.
Many want to sell their used toys but don't want the hassle of doing it.
Charge a flat listing rate and then a commision to sell your customer's toys.
There's an outift where I live here in SD.
If you're interested PM me, I'll send you their link.
I had them sell my softail and they made $500 off of me.
I don't think it appropriate to adverstise for them here in this forum.
It took them 3 months to sell it, but they did.

We have one here in NC called Cycle Exchange. They seem to do real well and ship bikes all over the place. You might even want to contact them. They do have a web site.
