Default Heat wrap

Wrapping my pipes this week. Can I reuse the exhaust gasket? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Exhaust gaskets aren't expensive..... Pick up a few... Don't re use them.

Start the wrap from the back and work toward the front of the bike.

Anyone wrap with the exhaust on the bike, or did you all take the exhaust off?

When you pull your pipes and see what the used exhaust gaskets look like compared to new ones, you'll see why you probably wouldn't want to reuse them. Like it was said though, they're really cheap.

What he said. However I did wet my wrap but just used a spray bottle of water to get it damp. Do not do it with the pipes on the bike. You have to get this stuff tight! I attached one end to a pole in my garage (no not a strip pole) and used that to keep tension. Also stainless hose clamps from Home Depot work MUCH better than those metal clips.

You got to take the pipes off!!!! I dropped the roll in a bucket of water as I wrapped. Could have just sprayed with water. I used safety wire to attach mine. Looks good. I followed everyones directions and wrapped from front to back. DON'T do that. Wrap from back to front. Will shed water better. If you let wrap dry before you start it, there will be significantly less smoke. Hope that helps.
