How long do you go on vacation for, that you call it a long period of time? Only during the winter for mine. Bike would never sit longer then a week at any other point in time.

Do you guys attach your battery tender only over the winter, or during extended times where you don't ride (e.g. vacation, etc.)?
I don't have a tender, and I don't think I have an attachment to hook it up to the battery, but I'd be interested in getting one... hell for $19.99 I'd probably be stupid not to...
I've always left my other motorcycles parked over the winter without being plugged in. So far haven't ever had a problem come spring starting the bike right up... I guess better to be safe than sorry.
