Just thought I would add an update to this post. I just installed the 504-32BQ Fat Cat (part number recommended by D&D) on a 2008 FXSTC. The cut on the pipe is more like a boloney cut than a slash cut...almost in between the two. Looks cool...but it is different than the earlier version of this pipe.

Not sure if this helps you out or not... but... I think the longer Heritage muffler would look killer on your bike also. Here's mine.

Now that I have bags, I want to add the heritage muffler to mine as well.

Ya, smart move. I think the heritage pipe with hard bags will look real good. Especially with the paint job you been pondering.

Yeah, now all I need is another huge pile of money to throw at my bike. LOL

That's the one I have (see sig pic). It was made longer so the exhaust would exit beyond the saddlebag. I think it looks great with or without the saddlebags on. D&D p/n 514-32BQ (Q is for quiet baffle).

I have the heritage muffler arriving on Thursday. Got it used from a forum member for less than half the price of new. It has some scratches on bottom from scraping but after lowering my ride ill probably add some scratches of my own, LOL.
