Thinking of putting on some V&H Big Shot Longs on my 07 Heritage but can't find anyone in the area that has them so I can listen to them. Have went to You-Tube and they seem to be loud with a low rumble, and this is what I am looking for, but hard to get a good feel on a video. What do you guys think of these pipes ??? Also, who is the best company to order these from, so I can get the best price. Thankx for the help !!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the V & H big shot longs on my 07 heritage, but i have the optional quiet baffles in mine and they sound great, I am also running a 103 with 255 cams, so might sound a little different. I put the quiet baffles in because they were a little to sharp of a sound for me, but the q- baffles toned them down to a deeper and more of a mellow sound.

I have those same pipes on my 09 heritage and I love them! And no, I don't have the quiet baffles... It really does have a nice low deep rumble, and sounds great when you crack the throttle. If you have neighbors that you really like, you might want the quiet baffles, but I'd go for the loud ones. The only thing I can say bad about them, is that you have to check the screw holding in the end cap every now and then. I lost one a few weeks ago, and you can only buy them in pairs and they're not cheap. Oh, and every now and then you'll scape the bottom pipe if you hit a bump making a turn. Doesn't happen often, but at some point it will. Go for it.

son had some BR's2-2 on his 07 and BSL's on his 09,,,

The BR's 2-2 are great pipes, he really got some good #'s on his dyno...

The BSL's are LOUD,,, But While Deeper than the BR's2-2's ,,,,, U will lose some TQ under 3k rpm's cause there so long... but above 3k u won't notice much diff...

Read up,,,,,,,, most true duals and long pipes such as BSL's will lose low end TQ...

Here to show U the difference,,, Below is his dyno's (thumbnails).. with both V&H's pipes.....

First Thumb below is the 09 NT with BSL's and shows the drop of TQ in the lower Rpm's that the BSL's will cause.

The second thumb shows what he got with the BR's 2-2's,,,

Be carefull to notice that the TQ scale on the right is different on the second one than on the 1st Thumbnail..

The TQ on the BR's 2-2's (2nd thumbnail) is 15#'s better under 3k rpms than He got on the BSL's..

Over all the 2-2's or even the BSS'ers will be better in the lower RPM's over the BSL's

Also U need to understand that both of these bikes had the usual Stg1 with SE A/C, both Had SE 204 cams With a 4* advance gear installed with SERT F/M and Dyno tuned by the same Master Tech at the same Dealership on the same Dyno machine.

So their as close as possible to being tuned the same...

Bottom line is the V&H's BR 2-2's/ (It should be the same for BSS'es) have a lot better AREA UNDER The CURVE than the BSL's have or produce.

yeah, that is true. I was told when I put the 103 in that if I wanted to get the most power out of it, I should put a 2 into 1 on the bike. Not worth it for me. I love my pipes...

In addition to above,, U must be out west or down south... here in the mid west I think V&H's are on at least 75% of the Harleys here..

As far as a DEEP rumble and good over all sound,,, thats why I still have my stock headers and Rush 2"" baffles on mine..

IMO its the best overall sound that I and Wife like.. and why I still have them on even after 4yrs..

Just go to your local Harley dealer on a saturday or sunday and wait for a bike to come in with the pipes you want. They're popular so you'll probably see and be able to hear a few of them.

I've got a friend with them on an 07 Heritage, and it sounds GREAT! He has the longs and S&S 510 cams (I think) and it is loud and proud. I really like the way his bike sounds.

Check out the D&D Long Riders. The owner raced bikes and his pipes are all built around performance. Been in business around 30 years.
