Default Problems installing O2 sensors on new V&H Big Shots

Hello,
I have a 2010 Fat Boy Lo and just purchased some V&H Big Shots. The install went smooth up untill I had to install my O2 sensors. The won't fit, it's like to holes on the pipes are too small. Has anyone ran into this? Should I tap the threads out alittle?

Thanks for listening!

no and nooooo!!...
1. remove exhaust
2. unplug o2 sensors from the connectors and take note of the cable routing
3. install sensors on exhaust
4. install exhaust
5. connect o2 sensors plugs

o2 sensor thread size is standard, they should bolt on directly to the new exhaust, otherwise contact exhaust seller....

Follow the above directions and they'll fit. As long as you purchased the correct pipes for your bike that is.

Definitely check your pipes to make sure they are the right ones. Different bikes have different specs.

O2 bungs are two sizes (15mm & 18mm). Make sure you have the correct set of pipes for the year/model & they are easier to install when off bike vs. on.

I plugged mine when I installed the tuner so...might be a good time for you to add one too???

my bad if i'm wrong about thread size...i've had 4 different exhausts and 2 different types of o2 sensors and the threads have beign the same...
deal with fuel injection if you install a high flow ac

Thanks for all the good advice. I'll double check with V&H and if everything is good I'll install the O2's with the pipes off the bike.
Thanks again!!

Hey just food for thought.
I put vh short shots on my xbones this past weekend. The o2 sensor on the fron pipe went on no problem. But, the rear pipe was an issue. The o2 sensor would not go in....tk the point where it began to strip. Since i was dealing with xpensive o2 sensor and pipe i decided to bring the bas pipe and o2 sensor to my exhaust garage buddiea. Sure enough, when they looked at the threads in the ot hole on the pipe they were all jacked up ( not from me ). They said it looked like whoever made the plug threads messed it up. So, they just retapped the pipe for me and the 02sensor fit perfect.

We prob got pipes made by the same "new guy " at vh!!

DO NOT TAP ANYTHING!

If the pipes are correct for the bike, the O2's will fit without any issue. Pull the pipes carefully disconnect the sensors making a note of how they go back and which is front and back. Put them in - DO NOT FORGET YOUR ANTI-SIEZE AROUND THE o2 Sensor (THREADS ONLY)

You should be fine

+1 on the anti-seize...making sure you don't get any on the sensor part....

I would not "tap" the bung....but there is nothing wrong with cleaning the treads with a tap...just make sure you know what you are doing... it's hard to return something that's been messed with...
