Heated Grips vs Heated Gloves

Heated Grips vs Heated Gloves
It gets a little chilly this time of year up here in Vancouver but that is no excuse to park my ride. I've been comtemplating changing my grips to heated. A friend was checking this out at the local HD dealership and was told that they were a waste of time and money. They don't do the trick and that heated gloves were a far better solution. I have seen the gloves and they are bulky and I don't like the appearance. Grips are $285. and gloves $260 (cdn). Anyone have tried out either....thoughts.....

Not had them myself but have heard and read about HD's heated grips don't last, some have fitted kits from snowmobiles ?.. Gloves are the best option I would have thought and thats where I'm heading..
Heated grips only warm your palms wheras gloves keep your whole hand warm.
Best in class are I think Gerbings http://gerbing.com/Products/gloves.html
I think they even make heated gloves for HD but go to Gerbings and pay less.

i heard heated grips were nice and they are used with heated gloves. the gloves heat the back of your hand and any airspace on the front. the grips heat the palm and bottom of the fingers. i use heated liners and then cheap oversize gloves. if wet and rain i wear dish washing gloves over the liners. stay warm and dry

That price on the gloves won't include the temp controller. That's probably another $100. It seems that my Gerbing heated gloves aren't as bulky as my wife's HD gloves. It may just be the model though.
I tried heat demons first, and when they did work, they weren't nearly as good as the gloves are. I have to say that the problems I had with Heat Demons were more my own doing than theirs. If you install them yourself, make sure you don't crimp the wires.
