1925 seat Crossbones - 2” inch springs no fit
Hi there all,
Fitted my 1925 seat; and I love it. Believe the hype. Only one problem. Tried the 2” springs but they drop seat too low; I have my seat set as far back as possible to maximise leg room, in this position with the 2” springs fitted my saddle bashes the plastic frame cover.
Works fine with the 3” springs. And looks the NUTS check the pictures and see if you agree

Where did you pick up your seat at? Ive been looking for one but they're so damn expensive. I have the 2" springs but I still have the stock 3" springs somewhere... think the bike looks a ton better with that style seat.
Edit: Never mind I just got one off of Ebay for $125. Not bad at all. Im gonna try it with the 2" springs and the stock 3"s and see if I cant ride it like that. Im not too heavy so it shouldnt be a problem.

Let me know how you get on with your springs, it was obvious as soon as I sat on the bike they were never gonna work, unless I reversed the fixings and had the seat all the way forward

Try cutting an appropriate ID piece of steel conduit and slipping it over the mounting stud under the spring. Pop the retainer out of the bottom, insert the conduit, put the retainer back on and mount the seat. You now have the appearance of springs, but no movement. You lose the "suspension" of the seat springs, but it's a Softail. If you like the look of the short springs this is a way to keep it.
