Hi everyone,
i am in process of replacing stock pipes on my xbones wuth vh short shots.
My question, there is a bracket that held stock exhaust on. It is small bracket connected to the six speed case. It held on the heat shields on stock pipes.
My question..do i remove this bracket also? Or do the ss use it? I figured id ask before i take it off.

Your short shots should have come with installation instructions. They generally are step by step and are pretty accurate.

 

Yeah there is an instruction sheet.....but it doesnt mention this other bracket.

 

Assuming your install is the same as my 09 Night Train, the entire stock exhaust comes off, including the mounting bracket below the transmission. Once removed, there will be two bolts remaining in the frame. Those will also be removed.

There should now be two holes in the frame. There should also be a bracket with your new pipes. That bracket will use those same bolt holes.
