Default How do you protect the rear fender??

Since I got the new rear fender going on I am thinking about protecting it from my 2 up seat. After going through what I had to on this custom paint job I want to make sure it's protected. I already have a piece of leather from my HD chaps glued to the underside of my seat but I would like some extra protection. What are you guys using that works and if it's a product where did you get it?
Thanks

I put a clean microfiber towel under the passenger seat before I bolt it on. I figure if you're suppose to wipe your paint down with it, it can't hurt right?

I have a bag I strap on occasionally. I put clear packing tape on the fender to keep it from rubbing.

I stick the tape to my hand first so it will be less sticky, comes off easier that way.

This is what I did for my Badlander. I have removed it several times to check it and it has worked flawlessly. I have denim paint, there aren't even any "shiny" spots from rubbing or anything.

Got to wal-mart to the arts and crafts section. They have small sheets of felt. I got a piece of black for like 37 cents. I also got a roll of black self adhesive velcro. I already had some 3M double sided foam tape. I cut the felt so it was the same shape as the passenger pillion of the seat, but sized it so it came about 1/2" short of the edge. I used the 3M tape to loosely adhere the felt to the underside of the seat. I then used the pile part (softer part) of the velcro and bordered the felt along the edge of it. I made sure about half the width of the velcro was actually stuck to the seat, thus holding the felt to the seat. I would post some pics but my camera is screwed. I know I did at some point a few months ago. Maybe a search will find them.....

EDIT: here it is https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...-solo-fix.html

I run solo 99% of the time but when Mrs Manfu wants to join in the fun I add the Corbin pad - it did make 4 little (noticeable to only the owner) spots but not a big deal to me. Other than not worrying about it (but you have a cool paint job), the clear tape idea sounds better than felt.

I just had my rear fender replaced under some a-hole's insurance. Harley has a part number for a clear stick on film to cover the fender under the pillion. I switch between the stock heritage seat and a badlander so it works for me. Not so much if you run with a solo seat. I also have stuck some felt-lik fabric over the pillion mounting tab bolts just in case. The tape idea sound like a winner though.

I use adhesive backed felt- shaped and applied to my passenger seat.
