Default gas gauge

has anyone here changed or took out the gas guage on your bike. have a 05 fatboy changing out the tank with a new one and twisted off the gas guage and I cant figure out how to remove the wires and replace. you dont cut them do you then reconnect ? buying the mannual tomorrow that might help but for now any help out there.

the connection for the guage is under the tank, above the front head.
Use a small pin to release the wires from the connector end and pull
the wires thru and out.

Take your time with the connectors, easy to get frustrated, they will release I have a tool for pin connectors.
