I call the local HD shop and mentioned I heard there was a recall for the D407F. The service technician said that was correct if the tire shows signs of cupping. I looked at my tire and it does, however this sounds like it'll be a dealer discretion. In any event, I am going to run down there this weekend and show them; hope to get a new tire out of the deal. will keep everyone posted.

I just got off the phone with service tech at Central Harley and was told the the same thing as kerrycocoran. He did act like he either didn't know about the recall and had to find out himself or had to ask to tell me, but he wanted to call me back which he did. My front tire is cupped bad so it should be replaced. The rear I haven't noticed any.

When you say "cupping"...exactly what's that look like?

You will notice it. It's like it is dished out spots all around on both sides from the center of the tire.

I just replaced the original D407's on my '09 FLSTF at 5991 miles. The rear was well into the wear bars, the front was just starting to cup. I replaced them with Pirelli Night Dragons.

My wife have a Fat Boy Lo , we mount our third rear tire yesterday , we made about 11,000 KM or 6800 Miles at the wear bars indicators, we put a Cross Bones D401 this time ...lower speed rating and harder compound...hope to change them less often.

Just got a reply from Dunlop. NO recall in effect.

"In regards to your e-mail, there is no recall on your 200/55R17 D407.
However, there was a service bulletin put out by H-D on the older D407 front sizes: 130/70-18, 130/80-17, and 130/90-16. The bulletin stated that if a customer had a ride related problem with that tire it would be warrantied. Other than those tires, there are no service bulletins, or recalls on any of our tires."
