I need a custom bracket to mount my iphone on my bike...
I mounted up the iphone on the bike and took a 200 mile ride yesterday to see how it held. I have a Ram mount that is bolted on to only the top bolt of the speedo bezel on my extended dash. The bolt tends to come loose after so long as the whole mount shakes a bit. The screws thread into the plastic on the speedo. I am thinking about a piece of aluminum that will bolt up to both sides of the bezel to hold the mount and then bolting in both screw holes on the ram mount mount in an effort to hold it more securely. I am not much for metal fabrication, but am hoping someone here can make this for me. It needs to arc up and over the speedo about an inch or so.
The other question is since the holes in the speedo are plastic that will hold the mount, will helicoils help at all? I doubt it as they would be threading into plastic.
The bottom line is I need a different way to mount this setup so it is more secure. It is possible that loctite could solve my issue, but I don't really know. Here is a pic of the way it is now, and yes, I am going to run the charger under the dash too. What you cannot see in the pic is that the ram mount has another hole for mounting that is hidden under it in this pic.
I want a piece of aluminum to go from two of the screws on either side and then I can mount the ram mount to that. I just woke up so if this makes no sense, I will explain better later.
Thanks!

I have a fatboy. I don't want to mount it on the switch housings where it is meant to go as my speakers are already mounted there and with my 16" apes. I could try it there for simplicity sake but i want to be able to run all my wiring and cables under the dash. I could care less about bugs getting on it.
