ok, so the stuff worked so good on my truck tires I tried it on the front tire on the bike, and it seemed to discolor the tire a little and the rubber feels a little softer or something. Does anyone know if I F'ed my tire? Has anyone used it on bike tires before?
we use spray nine at work to clean the floors free of rubber and oil, works great on a epoxy floors.I would wash your tires with soap and water real soon ,That stuff eats rubber real fast, rubber is a oil based material. But you should be fine as long as you wash your tires
ok, so i rinsed it off good with a hose, then washed it a few times just with a bucket of water and soap. the color seems to be fine, but the rubber is still a little funny. Guess I've learned my lesson and I'll just have to watch for cracking. Have almost 20, 000km on it anyways, but it's not ready to go just yet, so hopefully it didn't do much damage. If anyone else has had problems with this, let me know what to expect.
In the future, clean your tires with soap and water. Do not use any shiny treatment on them like armor all, etc as it will melt when you ride the bike and can run down into the tread.
