Which amp are you referring too? I just bought this amp for $55 on Amazon. Its MOSFET, 2 ohm stable, small footprint compared to other 2ohm amps.

I love this kind of stuff. I quickly looked through this thread but didn't see how you are going to make this amp weather resistant? Looks like is aircooled. Big 8 awg power/ground wire requirements too.
Gonna subscribe to see where this goes and what you wind up doing.

The JL amp is larger then the boss Audio Amp which Amazon dropped the price to $48. Others want $100+, who knows why.. lol And $300 for the JL is out of my budget.

The Boss amp also requires 8 awg. I spoke with several touring guys that use large amps all the time. They basically said, dont worry about it, they do not draw anywhere near the amps required for 8 awg. I will connect with a 15 amp fuse first and see if she holds. Some touring guys said they use smaller fuses also and never blow them. An extra 15 amp current draw is no problem. Unless you start adding heated gear and lots of lights...

Check out sonic electronics, the massive audio nx2 is a bad b****! They are very well known in high end stuff where people giggle when you mention jl.
I'll be running that amp along with an American bass 4 channel when I do my 10 speaker setup

The beauty of all this is that JL offers a marine version of the amp. The exact same thing, but water resistant. I've come up with several ideas along the way in order to conceal the amp, I don't like sadddle bags, I think I'll surpise you guys with the amp setup solution.

Stay tunned the amp comes home with me sometime around November.
