Exclamation crossbones handlebars

there is an issue with the crossbones handlebars becoming loose. first there is an advisory regarding the torque specs. this fix does not work. now harley has redesigned the knurling on the handlebar. had my bars and risers replaced by the dealer, next day hit a bump and bars dropped approx 1''. have seen members removing powder coating from inside risers to fix issue. not sure if this is the solution. wrapping bars in aluminum cut can does not seem to be a fix for a $20,000 bike. after discussing the problem with the mechanics at the dealer it was decided to pin the bars. this has resolved the problem. if you own a crossbones be aware of this issue they will loosen up and you may be injured. harley is aware of this "minor issue."

I'll consider myself lucky I haven't had this problem yet... But what do you mean by "pin" the bars?

its a dowel pin what they do is the drill two holes on both sides of the bars and put the pin thru the bar into the risers so the bars will not move but if you want to adjust your bars your SOL.

Mine loosened up early after I bought it. Took it in to the dealer and whatever they did...it fixed it. I have not had a problem since. ...and I've tugged on the bars pretty good.
