Opinions: Whitewalls or Blackwalls?
I'm coming uo to a tire change soon, and it's a little daunting. Not only do I have to decide between Metzler 880s or Avon Venoms (probably the Avons; I ran them on my Triumph and liked them a lot), I also have to choose between wide whitewalls or blackwalls. I love the look of the wide whitewalls on the Heritage Classic, but fear that they will become just one more cleaning chore to obsess over.
What say you, softail people: whitewalls or blackwalls on a Heritage Softail Classic?

I love the look of the whitewalls, but they do get a pain to clean. Front is not to bad, but the back on the side with the brakes is a real headache. Brake dust settles on them fairly quickly and in order for the bike to look good, those WW have to be clean. With that said, I would go with the WW anyways just b/c i like the way they look.

Hey Philp (AND OTHERS),
I can't imagine an Heritage Softail or a Springer w/out the Whitewalls.....it's a reall cool look and certainy ads to the nostalgic look, if thats what's your lookin for. You can always go to a decent sized dealer and check out the floor, since lately I've seen the Heritages with both whites as well as blaclwalls....IMO, it's not even a close call. If you cant handle the cleaning, just bring your scoot over to me, and I'll do it!.......but until then, it's real easy to clean with Mt Cleans Magic Eraser.......forget Wesleys Bleach White.....it stinks.
Now, I'm too looking ot change away from my orginal Dunlops......can you or anyone tell mme why i should coonsider AVON or Metzelers??

I wouldn't even think of having anything but the wide whitewalls on mine. I totally agree with several previous posts that those w/w's really add to the looks of the bike. Who cares if you have to spend alittle more time cleaning them. The looks and compliments you'll get are well worth the extra cleaning time, which isn't that much if you keep up with them.

Whitewalls look good on Heritage Classic's to me. I have blackwalls, but that's what my ride came with. When it comes time for me to get new tires, I'm going with whitewalls. I have read that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser cleans them VERY well. Just like mitcht said in his post.
