HD and others do make 3-4-6 inch pull back risers. I used to have 3 inch Buffalo Risers on my Sporty with the stock bars and it made all the difference. Its a cheap fix if it works. Usually anything up to 6 in pull back risers can be used with the stock cables and the cost is under $ 100.00. Check out Phat performance Parts or Dr V Twin for prices.
It might be all you need and if it doesnt work out sell the risers on E Bay to recoup some of your loss.
If your unsure how high and back you can go take the bars loose at the clamps and move them to the height and pull back you think you want to see if there is mroom in the cables. Also there is usually a little more wiring tucked up under the gas tank if you need more lenght

If cash is tight (like mine was) buy the bars first, then every week/two weeks, buy a cable. Yeah, it may take longer, but it's not an immediate cash flush.

I'm also 5"10' and own a 2010 Lo. I installed 4" Harley pullback risers. They have made a big difference in my comfort. I ride straight up and the discomfort between my shoulders while riding is gone. I'm still looking for a different look but since I did not need to change any cables this was a cheaper way to go until I find the bars I like.
