Default Wanting to do 5K service at home..Have questions

Hey everybody, first time to do the oil change myself on my heritage. Have done it plenty on my sportster before, but i remember hearing that these bikes have 3 places to change oil? What other oil do you guys use other than HD oil?? And do I need a manual for this, or can I order one and have it come later. Just dont want to pay full price at dealer for one. Do you fill the primary from the derby cover? How much oil do I need to buy for each area. I know a manual would clear a lot of this up, just was hoping to be able to get a better price on one by ordering..I know , I waited too long already to get one, LOL

Thanks for anyone's help

Get a service manual for your bike. There is MUCH more to do for a 5K service than change the oil. The manual will detail all of the checks and maintenance items.

If all you're going to do for the 5k is change your oil, you should take it to the dealer or an indy and have them perform the 5k service properly.

You obviously have not taken the time to even open your owners manual. The info is there.
