Default Baker DD6 or Screaming Eagle 6 speed???

Okay, I am getting a 6 speed. The question now is the S/E 6 speed or the baker DD6? I am trying to find a comparison online and have come up pretty much empty. All the reviews I have read say everyone liked what they installed. Seeing as my stock transmission is made by Harley like the S/E am I doomed to have another failure in 50K? The Baker comes with a 5 year warranty and is really a quality piece, the question is if it is worth however much more it is going to cost me.

If you have or have had either one please post your thoughts.

Thanks!

Go with the Baker. You won't be disappointed. Much higher quality. If you use both, you can tell a difference.

Drew, maybe it's time to retire your ride and start fresh. From what you say you have over 50K. You have a great looking ride but it might be fun to start over. P.M. me with prices for a Lowcat and Zippers for my FatBoy Lo. Oh yeah, black exhaust. thanks, Dan

Well......I think the Baker is "given" choice ......would be mine if I was gonna swap.....$ for $ don't know the cost difference, however.....If I came came accross an SE 6 speed at a good price(E-bay,etc),I would'nt be afraid of it neither.......It's a different animal compared to the stock HD 6 units......

A friend had a S.E. in his '05 flht and it chewed up 2 mainshafts. Go with the Baker and don't look back.

No difference oh forget it take you HD apart and replace every bit of it with some aftermarket stuff
More HD gear boxes out there with 100,000 trouble free miles than you can count

If I were able to buy a new bike and start fresh I would, but my finances will not permit this even if i were to finance the bike. Money is tight. i work for a motorcycle shop for god sakes, it's not like I make a lot of money. On the bright side, I get all my aftermarket parts for great prices. This should shed a bit of light on my thinking.

I am pm'ING YOU PRICES NOW!

The dilemma is over. I scored a 5 speed really inexpensively from another forum member (Northside)! Thanks!
