Default Carburetor question??

I've decided I don't like my S&S Super E carb , and have decided to replace it. (S&S.....spit & sputter). which it does TOO much of.

What is best replacement, and what should I expect to spend?

All help appreciated.

You either have a vacuum leak or the carb is not jetted correctly...spend just a few bucks to solve the problem and it will run like a champ ...

The S&S is the best replacement.....

I agree with Tom.....Figure out why it's coughing...Did you change pipes or the air cleaner? Once tuned properly they are the best.

S&S the best...? preference maybe. Mikuni 42 all the way! Easy to tune great throttle response. Hell pick up a stock cv40 throw a thunderslide in it and away you go. I dont think the carb is your prob, look for leaks, carbon build up, float level, screen, pipe and ac selection.... whats your current setup?

+1 on the S&S...
IMO simple to tune...

Has it been running bad since you bought it? (recently correct?)
Had it been sitting?
How many miles on it?
Did you swap your pipes?
Have you checked your intake manifold for leaks / cracks?

you could have some bad fuel, jetting, **** in the bowl, leak, dirty petcock filter. I have no worries with my s&s for the past 4yrs.
