Default Springer riser adapter plate??

Im thinking of geting an adapter plate on bay to open up my options for bars. Has anyone ever used one? If so what are some of the pros and cons if any?
Does it affect the look or feel of the bike much? (springer classic)

My only comment is that they are ugly...
I have seen them on a bike and they stood out like a sore thumb...

What bars are you looking at?

Only saw an adapter plate on one springer and it looked out of place. Check on other alternatives if you want a good fit.

I run one from Paughco on my Night Train. I wanted to keep running drag bars with my 6 inch risers. All the drag bars I could find either had no knurling or they matched the width of a standard wide glide set up. I have used bars with no knurling and they always slipped on me. Most people never even know its there unless I point it out to them.

Here is a link to the one I used.

honestly, the selection of bars for springers is starting to get a little better. I would make using an adapter plate a last resort. Wild 1 has a lot of Springer specific bars, as does Carlini, HCC, Drag Specialties....if you don't care about the knurling, Nash bars can almost all be used on a Springer.

For not much more than the "adapters" you can buy a complete top tree...a little more work to install but looks a lot better...I think that is what is in the pics above.
