New Vs. Used?

I paid $13,500 for my '07 Heritage. It had 687 miles. Showroom condition and the color I've always wanted. I didn't think they'd made enough changes on the newer models (for instance, touring models made significant changes in '09) so I was looking for an '07 as I wanted the 6 speed.
I shopped for months before buying. I still see '07s with 10k miles "asking" 2k more than I paid but probably not getting it. I also live in CA so I'm limited to buying a CA bike if I want one with low miles so that made it harder. I'm sure it's not the best deal in the world but it was the best I could find and I really looked long and hard.
I bought my '07 Streetbob from someone on this forum. There's some good deals in the classifieds 'cause most people on the forum are realistic. In the long run, you'll end up with a Harley and you'll be happy.

Dealer is trying to soak you for accessories that they didn't give a dime for on trade in.
Like was said, if you can go get financing through your bank then go buy private party if you want a solid deal. Lots of great bikes for cheap.
All that said though...if this is the bike that sings to you, then go get it and party like a rockstar.

I don't pay extras for any aftermarket parts because you won't get paid for them either when you go sell it. Used is good, but you have to count in depreciation and know that there is nothing wrong with stock.
Unless you find a bike that is fixed up exactly how you want it, most of the time it is just all about aesthetics and you get some pieces you like, some you don't, and some you have to buy other stuff that you like anyway and discard what you got.
There's also a certain value in the warranty of a new bike and being able to start from scratch on customizing your bike to the way you like it, exactly down to the last piece.

I thought that was too much. It was a HD dealer. 14995.00. I would offer less but I wasn't sure the value on this bike.
This is the bike:
