Default Hello Softail family...

Today I sold my 2008 Street Bob, but I did so to buy my dad's 2005 Deluxe.

He's going to need to get his 2nd knee replaced so he won't be able to ride as much and he needed to save up some $$ to make up for the time he'll have to take off work. So he decided he wanted to sell his bike and then just get another one (hopefully a trike) in another year or so once he's ready to ride again.

I decided that I like his bike too much to see it go so I told him I'd sell mine and give him the cash to take his bike and he agreed to that.

I really loved my Street Bob and had it nicely customized to my tastes, but his Deluxe is a hell of a bike and of all the bikes he's had over the years it's by far one of the best.

I wish we could have kept both bikes, but life is what it is and I made the choice to hold on to the Deluxe and let the Bob go.

Man, what a hard choice. Love your Streetbob. Looks great with those black pipesl My Deluxe was practically the same as yours when I got it, sans apes and whitewalls. Black pearl, one piece backrest, kingsize windshield, and V&H Longshots HS. Can't go wrong with either bike, too bad you can't keep them both.

Ya, I loved the Bob, it was a great bike and I always got a lot of complements on it.

I just really dig the look of the Deluxe. I love the throwback look with the white walls but with modern appeal. It's basically a more nostalgic looking Heritage in many ways.

But I just felt the Deluxe had more to it than my Bob and more room to grow. It's got the full blown aux headlights, nice apes, a passenger seat/sissybar, and it's ready for some saddlebags down the road.

On the Bob, I'd have had to add a rear seat/sissy and to add saddlebags it would have required a signal relocation and so on and so forth.

I guess it just came down to the face that side by side, I can't take my eye off the Deluxe and decided to go with it.

You will love the ride of the softail, I sold my 2009 Street Glide for a 2010 Heritage and am glad I did. I too like the ole skool look but needed bags and windshield for touring. I went the cheaper route and got the setup with the Heritage. But I am working on the retro look as we speak, ture duals with fishtails and white wall tires, etc. Enjoy your new ride and post pics of any changes that you make, though the bike looks great the way it is...

I traded my street bob for a fat boy lo. I really liked the street bob, but I am very happy with the new bike. Enjoy!

You can't go wrong with a Lux, With a few mods (like yours is now) it gets a lot of attention when you pull up somewhere.
