Normal? or something to get checked? Fatboy2006
Happened a few times curious mind want to know...
Park in my same underground Parking spot daily... sometimes back in first sometimes front in first... happened a few tiems on the road bust mostly when i do this...
Parked front end in:
- get to the bike give the standard look around to see how kewl the ride ride looks
- unlock it blablabla
- put it in Neutral (making sure N light is on) to back her out enough to be ready to head straight out when rdy...
- Start the bike (EFI)
- have a last check everything seems right
- put her in 1st gear, heard to shift noise so must be (made sure green N light was OFF)
- give her some trottle to get her going...
IT"S NOT IN 1ST GEAR but there is no N neutral green light on... and yeah it is STILL in neutral!!! WTF? double check that the green light is not on it aint.. push down again to make sure it's in 1st even if there is no green N light on, try agian now it's in 1st... and she wants to go...
so am i the only one who experience this? it happens at stop lights/signs from time to time too...

It happens to me as well. I didn't realize this problem was exclusive to fatties. No problens with a hard shift -- like when downshifting. But in a gentle shift into first - like when you drift into a red light in second waiting for the light to change, and then realize that you have to stop completely. It's a bitch to then shift it into first. That said, it's still the greatest bike on the road!

You have probably moved the gear lever down far enough to turn the light off, but not far enough to engage gear. It is all pretty normal. Maybe check your gear lever position whilst the bike is not running and see how low it goes before engaging and it is not hitting anything on at its bottom position. Click 1 notch upward on the spline of your front lever, if you think it is too low, and all should be fine.
