Question Sylvania H6024 Alternatives?

Hello from the Dyna forum

I recently picked a FatBoy 7" headlight in great condition on eBay. The housing uses the H6024 sealed beam. I've done a bit of searching but have not found a definitive answer to what the best type of replacement sealed beam would be for the H6024.

Any input would be great.
Thanks

Wow! I never realized how humungous that fatboy light was till now, lol.

I put a Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulb...the 9003 H4 (I think) in my wife's bike. Big difference in the whiteness off the light. Worth $10 at walmart to try it out.

you will have to get a lens to replace the sealed beam if you want to use a bulb. you can get the lens new or used. I have a harley lens just sitting around as i got a bosh euro vw lens used for $20. best pattern for driving.

tk,

Is this the lens you replaced yours with? What type of bulb did you decide to use? I guess at this point once you've replaced the lens, there are many more bulb types to chose from.

Cool. that was one of the first things I did on my bike. I hated that sealed beam. It is still sitting around here somewhere.

yes that is the lens i got used from indy for $20. i have used many bulbs and there are threads about them all over. i had the silver star but it burned out in 1 month twice. i got the harley screamin eagle bulb and it last 6 months, thats 10,000 miles for me. i think the next one i get will be the piaa off road ANTI VIBRATION that they rate as bright as 135 watt but uses 60 watt power.
