SE 2s or V&H Longshots
Newbie here to the site. Looking around, just recently got a 05 Softail Standard, with stock pipes. Not exactly the loudest things. I was almost sold on VH Longshots, until reading in the forum and hearing there is loss in HP. Not in anyones intentions to loss that. SE2's are getting high reviews (are these slip ons?). I want a good sound and have good performance also. My last bike 2000 1200 sporty had SE tips, that were nice, but with the STD not sure which route is best. Input would be great from people with a little more experience. Also looking to do installation myself. Insight...

RE: SE 2s or V&H Longshots
I have the SE2 slip ons and love them, loud enough for me and my neighbor hood. Acually louder than I thought they were going to be. A buddy of mine has the long shots and likes them, it sounds good also. For me, at the time it was price, I couldn't stand the quiet ride ON A HARLEY. But now, I like them so much, I probibly won't change them for a while, if ever.

I plan on getting the V&H long shots with the power chamber (crossover) for my Deluxe. Them along with the SE stage 1 and power commander tuning will get 8 to 12 HP gain depending on who you ask. I had the V&H staggered on my Wideglide with the SE stage 1 and loved the sound and gained power from stock....Either way you go will be better than stock...Good luck!!!
