Default Lyndall Brakes what the F%$K already???

You will maybe have less dust, greater stopping, and less squealing, but I only have maybe 6-7K miles on the rears and I need to replace them ALREADY?????

I was ready to order them, thinking I replaced the fronts. But, checked the package that I kept and they were for the rear (7196 - Gold+) . S%$^it, still have the original fronts, and could have waited on the rears if I had to.

I don;t understand how they can say 18k miles. I'm still trying to figure out why I only got not even 2 summers of riding at the most 6-7k miles. Are they that soft in compound?

Now I'm wondering if I should go back to OEM...

DISSAPOINTED to say the least...

Any thoughts

I have the z plus front and rear and have over 30k on both. they are close to half worn, but that is it. I'll never buy another brand again.

that's strange. i put mine on about 5000 miles ago and i still have a ton of pad left. i think it might have something to do with your style of riding. maybe your riding your brakes too much.

Are you riding two-up alot? The added weight would require more braking then riding single and wear them out sooner.

A guy I know doesn't use his front brake and for some reason wears his rear pads out quickly.

I don't have any experience with the Gold+ pads, but the Z+ pads are vastly overrated. That's not to say they are bad... just very little (if any) improvement over stock... at a higher cost. That said though, 6-7K sounds low no matter what your riding style is. Have you checked your wheel alignment and verified that your brakes aren't dragging?

Do you clean your calipers on a regular basis? I clean mine about every 5,000 miles. They will get a build up of brake dust and crap on them and wont retract at all wearing your pads out prematurely.

Are they more expensive than HDs. Thought I saw the Z+ somewhere for less than $40.

+1. It is important to clean pistons, pins and grease the pins.

Curious what your 5000 mile cleanup consist of blkbagger. I guess I never thought of this either. Can you give me a rundown? Do you actually pull the wheels for this clean?
