thankx guys fro inputs. I have solo setup only. don;t feel like I ride the rear brakes, but use more that the fronts. Really would have to be riding the rears brakes alot. I don't clean calipers. Maybe I should do that when I put the new pad on. The HD pads are like $49. don;t know what manufacturer they use.
I talked to LRB, and the also thought it was weird. He discounted the next set for me and I told him I'd send the pads back for them to check out. Maybe something going on with that set of pads???
Tell you the truth, I don't get it. Really taken back about it. Will try one more time..

I have had great luck with Lyndall pads on all of my bikes, better braking and little or no dust. Everyone has their opinions but bottom line is they are a quality pad as good or better than the OEM so if you are wearing them out that quickly you have other problems, sticking calipers, pistons, or riding style

Pretty simple really, A can of brake cleaner and a thin shoe lace. The fronts I pull the calipers off and pull the brake lever to run the pistons out a little. hit em heavy with brake cleaner and feed the shoe lace around the pistons to clean em up. the rear I don't pull off but just hit real heavy with brake cleaner and a small bottle brush. The crap breaks down real good with the brake cleaner and comes right off. If they are real bad I pull the pins and lube them too.

I've had mixed results with the z+ pads. Front brakes noticeably improved, but developed a squeal after about 5000 miles. Rear showed slight improvement over stock, but again developed noise after about 10,000. Wear characteristics are very good-lots of pad left after 12,000 and a good caliper/piston cleaning. I would probably try the Golds before the z+ again.

Brakes are always a trade off. You can get tougher pads that will last longer but they will wear out your rotors faster, squeal, and foul your wheels with that filthy black dust. The fact that Lyndall pads don't make dust was enough for me to switch. I got tired of cleaning spokes all the time.
