Just rode last night on the freeway 80 mph. As comfy as could be with the rider backrest. Felt like I could ride all night long.

OK, I'm stationed in Germany, so I am exempt from any lectures on following the speed limit. My experience was that around 90, it was tough to go much faster when the bike was stock. That was easily corrected with pipes and A/C, and I use that cheap SE race fueler. My last road trip (about 2500 miles) we normally cruised at 90 mph for the most part, bumped it up to around 105 when passing. Over 100 I got some wind buffeting, but otherwise, it was perfectly comfortable--no problems at all.

Same holds true for weekends unless you are in the slow lane the car pool and #1 lanes on the 405, 5 , 14 fwy are always running at 75 and above.

When I ride up to the LA area I'll use the car pool lanes on the 5 and 405. Even at 80 and over I'll get overtaken by someone wanting to go faster. I'll usually try and cruise between 75 and 80 but I find myself moving out of the way of faster cars. The bike will stay smooth all the way to 100 but I find myself vibrating (shaking with fear) if I do that too much.

Is this normal? is there anything that can help the power and handling at higher speed for this bike?
Had my 95 Heritage over 100 with 16" apes.Drifted a little but not too bad. Electra glide 100 no problem.

I'm at a lost to why someone has the urge to exceed the speed limit as much as they say. That's reckless driving in VA. Drive what society has made a law to do and enjoy you bike. Driving reckless is killing innocent people. At 100mph on a public highway makes you a terrorist with a 700+ pound hand held missile. Grow up.

Just my opinion but I live it.
Lighten up,if you ride 55 where I live thats a death sentence.

I have an '08 heritage and at 80, in 6th, it's a flat comfortable ride. Don't do it that often. I95 is a mess.

'05 with 5 speed and stage 1. I run around 75 to make it live forever, but have hit 100 in a big valley in the country. I won't say it has MORE vibration above 80, but just DIFFERENT vibration. It did have a shake over 90 which went away with the addition of dynabeads.
I rarely do over 80, but if traffic is gonna do 80-85, I do 80-85 until I can find a safe lane to slow down in.
