it all depends on what u want to carry... both work well and will look good on ur bike... AND u can have both... a solo bag on the left and a toolbox on the right

I always thought the chrome toolboxes were a bit too much bling, but seeing the black ones makes me reconsider putting one on my Heritage.

For the record, the teardrop shaped toolbox was introduced on the 1940 model Harleys, and lasted until 1960 or so.

I had the leather tool boxes, they looked awesome, but after 3 years they started looking like ****. I now have chrome ones, they are nice. I think the black ones would look better, even on a chromed out Fatboy.
Has anyone changed the lock in thier box to have it keyed for the ignition key? The lock that comes in the box cannot be keyed.

I have a black leather one. Same shape just made of leather with a zipper. It holds a good amount and the chit don't rattle cause it's leather. I took it off a while back but been thinkin bout puttin it back on. Here's a pic of it from a while back.

Don't forget, these don't really lock. Any round, Harley type key will open them.
