Higher mileage rear tire for Crossbones
These puppies are pricey. Anyone have a higher mileage alternative? Avon or Metzler?

I do not think there is a high mileage tire for the 200 tire. First rear tire on my night train went 5500 miles, just replaced my second tire today an got 8000 miles out of it. These are the stock dunlop. DUNLOP 200/55-R17 M/C 78V Sportmax Touring

What is the going rate for a stocker?

I agree. I like the looks of the 200 on my Fatboy, but 6500 miles and its smooth. I'm a little disappointed in the wear. Maybe I'll do the darkside thing.

I got close to 10,000 on my stocker, I went with a Avon Cobra, time will tell how long it lasts. Keep the pressure right very important

I'm going CT when I need a new one. I'm sick of replacing these suckers every 5-6,000 miles. That's BS.

I got 10,000 on the rear, and at 15,000 it looks like I should be on schedule to do both at 20,000, When I did the rear it was still legal.

Obviously riding style and proper inflation are key factors in tire life. I'm just cheap, and since I'm old and change my own tires looking for a way to reduce the amount of rubber-busting I have to do.
