Default 2010 Fatboy Road Trip - 1400 miles

Greetings All,
I just returned from a 3 day, 1400 mile road trip on my 2010 Fatboy. This is my first motorcycle, and was my first long road trip on her. Needless to say, I am tired and so it my hind quarters. I had purchased the Tallboy seat from Harley for this ride, but after about the first couple of hours on day one, I was in pain. There was no way I would stop, regardless. My question, is this common, or is there a better seat out there that I can purchase? I can't imagine that this is normal for long trips. Keep in mind, I am 6'5" and not a small guy. I've uploaded a pic of my bike for reference.

I am open to any questions and comments. I want these trips to become more frequent, as I had a blast sans the pain and numbness.

Thanks for listening!

Congrats on your bike and welcome to the road trip world.
As far as seats go I personally like my Mustang Touring seat. I take at least 2-3 road trips a year and it's always with my riding partner, my wife. Since we put the Mustang seat on our Softail we have no butt issues and average approx 300-4 hundred miles a day. If I'm not mistaken Mustang has a satisfaction guarantee. Check with them on the details.
And ride safe, and often......

Seats are a personal choice. I just added a C&C lo pro solo to mine but am yet to take it on a long ride. Did a few hundred last Sunday ans was comfy as can be. Check out the thread I started with all the different stuff they can do. They will custom make the seat to the specifications you give them. I have never tried a mustang.

Have the boys at Mean City Cycles (site sponsor) rework your seat. I can now ride all day on my stock seat.

I did 1800 miles on my Corbin gunfighter last week and my butt didn't hurt. Corbin's are firm but that is what prevents pressure points and a sore butt.

I did 1500 miles on my 2010 fatboy with stock seat and it was not bad i did have a backrest and i believe that made all the difference. two 500 mile days, not as comfortable as my street glide with mustang solo and backrest but doable. before getting another seat get a back rest if your seat allows. i will be putting another seat on my fatboy just haven't decided which one yet, leaning towards mustang solo with backrest since the one on my sg is so comfortable. good luck

Anyone try this company:

Just curious. They have a store here in Florida, so I might swing by and take a look.

Thanks,

Default Comfortable Seat

I have an Ultimate on my 01 Fat Boy and absolutely love it! I rode 850 miles in one day without any soreness. I have had 5 people now purchase this seat on my recommendation and have had no complaints. The seats are not cheap but they are comfortable.
