Default Newbie Deluxe owner here

Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Tom and am the proud owner of a new 2010 Deluxe.Been looking at this site for a while and thought it was about time to join.Sorry in advance if this is in the wrong place. When it comes to computers I have a slight case of mental retardation. And it usally takes me time to learn how to navigate through it.First question is on the 21 " inch front wheel. Can you use a stock harley 21" from any bike or does it have to be from a softail? What is the best width Etc.Never have any luck with search functions Thanks Tom

Welcome, Tom. I've been doing the computer thing since 1982 and still feel like I don't know too much about it.

Speaking of that, I'll let someone that knows far more than me answer your question about the 21" wheel as well.

Thanks I already do. Just traded my Iron 883 with rigid struts and a slim line solo spring seat.It was a great bike and cool as hell looking, but at 41 yrs old my back couldnt take it any more I was ready to .

Welcome from Florida

No not any 21' wheel will fit. The axle size is different from bike to bike and even from
year to year.

Welcome, Tom! And, great choice but then I'm a little biased! I ride my nearly new Deluxe as much as I can. I've only missed the months of December and February since I got it last April 2009.

Your bike runs a 25mm bearing. I believe you can use any softail wheel as long as it has the correct bearing size. About width thats all up to you....If your gonna run a WW tire you can go up to a 3.5"....My personal preference is the wider the better. Im running a 3" but wish i had a 3.5"...which will take a 90/90/21 WW tire. There are several different brand wheels available...Just choose one to your taste. Good Luck!

By the way.... nice choice with the Lux!
