Does anybody know if you can put Harley cruise control on a softail with fuel injection?

Here is a kit that allows you to install the same HD cruise that's on the FLH's http://www.cruisemount.com/index.html. I would love to put it on my bike for long rides

Might make the difference for someone with Carpal tunnel syndrome of riding or not.

I just use the throttle boss on my Kuryakyn grips to help ease up on the popeye grip needed.

Unfortunately the MoCo in it's infinite wisdom decided that softail owners are not allowed to have electronic cruise control. There is no physical reason for this. The MoCo actually went out of their way to make softails incompatible with their electronic cruise control.
Yes I know there is a couple of companies like Cruisemount that make stepper motor cruises that can when used with a HD electronic cruise control give softails full cruise control. But as stated above they are expensive. With installation (If you don't do it yourself) and all the parts you are talking nearly $1000! On top of that then you have a sort of Rube Goldberg cruise control when you are done. Yes, supposable it works OK...
As you may have guessed this is one of my pet peeves about my bike. Last year I rented a Ultra for a long weekend. The two things I liked the most was the music and the electronic cruise. As soon as we got home I started researching how to add cruise to my bike, but like the thread says there is no good way to do it... sigh
