Thundermax again...
I got a raise today at one of my jobs (WooHoo!) so I might be able to get a Thundermax with Auto Tune. Who has one and is it worth it. Is there anyone that switched from a power commander to a Thundermax? My fatcat has the 02 sensor ports so from what I gather I just plug it in (the whole new ECM and autotune module), load the map and it does the rest? Talk me into it people. My bike is an older 2002 EFI. It runs what I consider to be great but I am sure it can still run better.

since you already have the O2 ports, it's plug and play for you. i've been running one since my 10 fxstc was new and have not regretted the change. the software is easy to use and you are able to change any the A/F parameters from idle to full throttle. the install took about 20 min. you can find them a little cheaper on e-bay.

i went from pclll to TM. i can say the pclll was great after the dyno tune. the TM seems to be all around better as it will adjust for weight, wind, weather and yes even sucking in water (not recommended). one thing it does do well is gives you the opportunity to change your engine around and save the expense of another dyno tune. i have about 40k on mine and minimal issues. I did need to change 1 o2 sensor out because it had a bad wire but that could have been because i got it used. i tried a few maps to see what would the difference be and TM was right when they told me to use the 2 into 2 exhaust map. they say the important part is to pick what is closest to the bike you have and then the TM will adjust from there. You can download the software and see what maps they have before you buy it. I use the 393 map and leaned out the 30% and higher setting.
