Default My softail dilemma! Chime in....experts.

OK here is the deal. I'm looking to buy my first HD. Im not new to riding but new to Harley's. I used to ride sportbikes a while ago, and just grew out of them and the sportbike scene.

So, I LOVE the Rocker and Rocker C. I also love the Night train with a wide wheel conversion on the back only. I think they are both beautiful bikes, but I just hate the NT with the stock wheel and fender on back.

My plan is to buy used, and basically paint/powercoat as much of the bike as I can to have a totally flat black bike.

Why would I choose one bike over the other? Is there any reasoning to choose one over the other besides liking one more?

I know there is a flat black Rocker for sale in the FS section, but it is SOCAL, and Im in Canada and Im not quite ready with the funds to buy just yet..

Thoughts? Thanks in advance, love the forum by the way!

It would be easier to find a Night Train in black denim, then there is not much to paint.

I like the seat of the Night Train over the Rocker, which puts you higher up on the bike.

I am very happy with my 2007 Night Train with stock 200 rear, and if anything I want a wider front tire.

Nice...do I have to get a new wheel to use a much wider tire on the NT? Like, if I use that Heartland kit?

Yea I think you need an 8 in wide rim or something close to that. Stock is 17x6.

Wow that looks nice...is that basically a stock NT with the conversion kit? It must be lowered a bit?

The stock kit that CAV COP mentioned can be used with a stock 200, and I have seen it in person, looks really nice. You can also go up to a 210 on the setup I was told.

Nice...you gotta love the Heartland kits...they are the business! I want to order the kit before I get the bike, so it is all ready to go when I bring her home.

Now to just figure out which I want. I LOVE the Rocker. I guess it will just depend on what I can find when the time comes.
