Default My samson's seem uneven???

I just put some samson s-433 true dual fishtail exhaust on my 2000 Softail. The install seem to go very easy and every seems to work fine. Upon its maiden voyage, my buddies noticed that they are uneven in back. The primary side seems to be about 3/4" to 1" lower than the other side.

Has anyone else ran into this? Is there something i could have overlooked on the install? (I plan to call samson tomorrow, but wondered if anyone else had noticed the same issue?)

Any ideas?

+1....

I've had two sets of Samson True Duals over the years and had to do this on both sets.

You might get away with just loosening up the brackets that bolt to the mufflers, at the frame, and pull the low side up and push the high side down to the maximum amount and tighten them up.

You might only be an 1/8 to 1/4 inch off this way, not noticeable unless you really pick the bike apart...and saves your from loosening all your clamps and connections.

I'd try that first.

My pipes are about 1/4 inch off in height from the back tip of the fishtail to the ground with the bike is sitting perfectly straight. The right side is a little higher than the left (primary) side. I've attached a couple pictures of the bike from the back so that you can see it's really hard to tell the difference once you get 1/4 inch or closer to the same height.

Thanks all, I am going to start loosening the brackets...I agree with you JayDee...if I can get them within a 1/4" to a 1/2" that will be good for me.

Yep, had the same thing when I first installed mine. There's plenty of room for adjustment, though. Everything's easy to get to and it should just take a few minutes to get them even.

hello there. the reason your fishtails look uneven is because they were most likely installed while on the kick stand. first loosen the exhaust system just slightly everywhere. make sure the bike is in an straight upright position. this is where you are going to make your pipes perfectly positioned. take a ruler or measuring tape and measure the highest of the fishtails. then on the other side pull up on the fishtail until it rises up to the same height as the other one. tighten everything down. now you will have a perfect set of fishtail exhaust you will be proud of. if you have any questions at all please call us at 888-5-SAMSON. good luck and thank you,
JR
