Default 06 Standard vs. 07 Custom

I am new to the HD realm, but not riding. I am looking at 2 bikes right now. Other than the different motors, and paint scheme (standard gray vs Custom black motor) what are some differences between the two. Both are the same price, the standard having a stage 1 kit, lowered, drag type bars and thunder star front wheel, and the custom being bone stock. The custom has 10,000 miles and the standard has 5,000. I know that when it comes to customizing, it is up to the individual owner, so that is not what I am asking. I am talking about the base bike itself.

Thanks for the input,
Mike

06 sounds like a good bike. I have the 07 because of the 96 inch.

Default 07 also

Hard to say. All things being equal, I love my '07. Not sure if the '06's have the 96", 6 spd, etc.

Also, I like to work on bone stock, not that options might not be to my taste, but I like that I'm the only one that has wrenched on it. Probably doesn't matter, but I always consider it.

I vote '07.

Same here, I can't remember if the '06 has a 96 but if not, I'd go with the custom. The sixth gear is nice.

Greetings,

Definitely go with the 07. The 6 speed and the 96" engine are well worth it!

Agreed, the 06 is a good bike and has the 200mm rear tire, but it does not have the 6 speed tranny or the 96" engine.

When they were still making these two bikes there was a huge difference in cost. I think the Custom was another $4k or so.

The Custom is by far the better deal. And it's shiny. Chicks dig shiny.

I have an 06 standard which I like alot but I'd go for the 07.Bigger engine, better trans. and I think it has the upgraded hydraulic cam chain tensioners. No brainer really.
