I am lookim to puchase your heat shields for my 2010 Heritage. Any issues with creating unecessary heat on the engine or oil?

None, Besides sending the heat down towards the ground when moving it also deflects air back on the rear cylinder. Though it's not as hot like the air that comes off your engine the first time, it increases the circulation on that rear jug.
I also allowed for a 1/8" gap where the rear edge of the deflector looks to lay on the oil tank. It doesn't actually. There's 2 soft velcro tabs that are fixed to two metal tabs on the back of the deflector, preventing any chance of contact between the deflector and the oil tank. This gap allows air to pass between the two surfaces.
