Sloppy engineering on heal toe bush
I just cant understand why the bush is so sloppy, If i produced that bush in my first year of engineering it would of been thrown in the bin by my tutor, let alone excepted for use in production.
Is there no quality control, at the HD manufacturing plant?

I believe they make them a little loose so they don't bind up if a little dirt gets into them.
If you want to make one that's nice and snug, have at it.
But remember that road dirt gets into EVERYTHING so your likely going to want to put o-rings or something like them into the ends to seal that nice tight bushing off.
And or a grease fitting to keep it lubed up properly and flush out any dirt that does get in.
If you don't, don't be too surprised if six months down the road you suddenly realize you have been stomping on the heel and toe pegs to change gears.
The engineers who designed our bikes are not stupid, and there is probably a good reason for doing things the way they did.
We just have to figure out what that reason was.
