Default Does the rider feel more heat on a Deluxe?

I was wondering, with the ride height so low on the Deluxe (and Fat Boy Low) and the seat seemingly closer to the engine, is this bike significantly hotter for the rider than any of the other Harley models?

Thanks,
R

I was wondering the same thing, but I have seen other bikes with the engine heat guards...

it runs really hot in stop and go traffic! Even with jeans on it feels like you would burn your leg...

Our Heat shields work very well our your money back..you can buy them plain, chrome studs, blinged out to match the color of your bike, plenty of options. They are not plastic so they can not crack, break,or fall off.

If you're completely stock it will be a little warm sitting still. If you do a Stage1 and richen it up it will run cooler.

I'm running a Bare Bones seat, and dual exhaust that runs fairly close to the left leg and the heat isn't a problem for me.

I've got a C&C fastback seat on my '07 Heritage and I noticed right away that, with the seat being flush with the oil tank, that I was feeling lots of heat. I never rode it with the stock seat which is wider but I ended up getting a set of RJ's heatshields (no offense Capn Itch). They make it much more tolerable but, let's face it, they're air cooled engines and we're riding on the oil tank. I'll see if I can post a pic or 2 which show the shields.

That would be great. Thanks all for your replies.

And I guess I'm really behind the times, what is a Stage 1, Stage 2, etc?

I've noticed zero difference between my Heritage and wife's Deluxe.

The concept of the crotch coolers is sound. All you have to do is wear chaps or riding pants and you can see that putting anything between you and the heat source will help.

Only time right leg heat is an issue is when riding in a parade or slow moving traffic when the oil temp can get up to 250.
