I currently have V&H Longshots w/ no baffles... just large diameter drags, and the bike is not running well. Would something like this help? I'm assuming it wouldn't get louder than it is now...?

They will not be as loud and will sound better. Your bike needs some back pressure so it should also run better. From open pipes to the BCT baffels my bike did run better.
