Rear Tire Wear
#21
Where do you live? Do you ride 2 up much? Use your front brake mostly?

It's just not the norm.
Could be the tires, could be your riding habits, could be the bike.
Hell, it might be magic...... who knows for sure.
Wish I got mileage like that.

Almost always ride alone but have a trunk and bags and I'm not light. Most of my braking is with the front and the back locks way to easy. Of course no burn outs.
To be honest I could have gotten another 2,000 at least but had the money and had miles coming up so got the tires.
The guy I bought them from did call me a liar when I told him those were the factory tires, then he looked at the Odometer.

New here. Have a couple questions. Could you email me at djvolz@iowatelecom.net
Better yet; start a new thread to ask your questions.

I'm running a 160/60VR18 Metz on the back of my bike. I check the pressure religiously, and I'll be lucky to get 6,000 miles out of this tire. The front looks like it'll go to 10,000 miles. Unfortunately, Metzeler is the only company that makes a tire the correct size and load rating for my bike. I love the grip the ME880s give me, I hate the tread life.

ok, my rear is ready to go, and I have 8000km on it. I asked the dealer if this was normal, and he said anywhere from 8000-15000km is normal, but he did say it's not hard to tell how I drive. Even a little heavy on the throttle makes a big difference. So may we should both ease up a little? lol

Braking with the back brake will wear out that back tire quicker too.
