I have read the Carlini bars are a little higher than advertised. I will probably use Carlini risers also...probably the Boob Risers. They have a 12" in the Flyin Apes but they are 1.25" and I would rather have the 1.50" bars. Any help is most appreciated.
these are the carlini 13" high by 1.25" gangster apes. Im 5'4" and these are exactly 1" higher than my shoulder using my trusty stabila level. Measured of the top of my middle finger to the highest part of my shoulder while sitting relaxed on the bike. Hope this helps

Harleyheaven, sorry to hear about the damage. That's a really good looking bike you have there! Anyway on your question about the bars. I have a set of Flyin apes on my Road King. Mine are 14-inch with stock risers and they are shoulder height, maybe a little above my shoulders. I'm 5'9 by they way. The 14-inch Carlini's are more like 16's. Softtails and baggers mount a little different, but I think you should go with 12's. If you want them at your shoulders. You will love the bars either way, highest quality I have ever used. Ask about blem bars, I saved $100 on my set and I still can't find the blem. I attached a photo of my bike so you could see them on a bike. Hope this helps, good luck!

I've got the 14" 1.5 gangsters I'm 5'10" and there just above my shoulders, a little bit more with the bare bones on. I think the 1.5 and the boob riser make them a little taller than the 1.25's

i'm 5'6 and have the 14's with 2in risers and ride a bare bones saddle on my standard. bars are extended almost vertical (not leaning back towards me) and they are about an inch above my shoulders. if i'm in my stock seat, grips are just at or a little below shoulders.

pull the specs off carlini's site, mock up a set with pvc and see what you think. i LOVE these bars !

HarleyHeaven, What did you decide to go with. I'm considering the 12" flying Apes or the 10" Chubby's. I'm 5'8" and do not want my hands above my heart. When I change seats to a Danny Gray it will lower me one to two inches so I'm not going over 12" bars. Love the fact that the Carlini's are only 34" wide.

I've got the 12" Fliyin Apes but have not got them on yet. My bike is still torn apart and I'm waiting on some backordered parts. Get ready for some changes to my bike...
