Default Belt Change

Hey Guys, Quick question. My friend just blew the belt off his 01 heritage. He called and asked me how hard it is to change. I haven't changed a belt. Obviously the rear whell has to come off but do you have to pull the primary apart or does the belt slip on to a gear behind the primary. Thanks.

It's a job that takes some time and patience...And a manual.....

The dealership quoted me 8 hours labor when my belt shredded on the Jersey turnpike last year.

I did the job myself with a friend.....Well worth the money saved.

I just did my belt. It is a pretty big job. About 4 hours. Swing arm should come off along with inner primary.

Can not see why the swing arm would have to come off as the belt runs inside of it. Nothing for the belt to go around.

The swingarm axle and spacer have to be backed out so the belt can go on.......The swingarm does not have to come completely out.
