Is this shot more what you're looking for?

Yeah that's pretty cool.. shows a good sideshot of the profile..
These seats don't look like they're extremely thick, like the sundowner.. which to me is a good thing. What's surprising is folks report how comfortable they are though they don't look like a big thick pillow kind of seat.

The shot above with the backrest shows the width from the top pretty well.. Not bad at all I think. Will look fine on a fatboy I think.

I'm thinking my decision's going to be the wide version.

Should a significant improvement for long miles over the lepara I'm using.

Just posted it for sale for anyone that needs a low-profile solo seat.

I don't see how one of those soft, overstuffed seats can be comfortable. You sink into them and get all sorts of soft tissue compression (causes numbness).

The wide seat will look good...especially with the saddle bags on.

So I've got the Wide Vintage Solo and matching rear seat ordered.. I'll let you guys know and take some pics when I get it in. Can't wait for a good break-in ride with the new seat.

So which is better for a 5'7 w/short legs on a deluxe. These don't bring you up higher in the saddle do they?

I'm 5'5 and the seat moved me up about 1" I got mine yesterday and it is very comfortable but the wife is used to our old seat so it has to go. I have it listed in classifieds in case your interested.

I saw that.. If I didn't want the solo and separate rear version, I would have jumped all over it. It aught to sell though. I'd get some pics up if you hadn't already.

I'd say just from pics I've seen, they're about the same as a stock FL Heritage or Deluxe seat. Maybe a little higher than the stock fatboy seat but the fatboy seat is a "board" anyway.

Actually, if you compare your deluxe with DMSC's heritage with the mustang above, you can get a good glimpse of the seat thickness.. Almost looks like the mustang is a wee bit thinner but may be an optical 'allusion' (spelling).

I'm 6'1" but longwaisted, so with my 32" inseam I'm sure I won't have any problems with groundreach but I'm looking into lowering my fatboy because I just like the lower ride height.. and I swear I think a subtle lowering in the rear will actually help with handling.. well maybe with some good shocks.

From what it sounds like though, the seat might raise you a bit, compared to thin custom seats, but also moves you forward a bit so pedal reach probably wouldn't be adversely affected.. I would guess.

Chomping at the bit, waiting on the tracking # now.
