Default Brake Pad Life

Assuming average conditions (whatever that really means), what would be the typical expected life for front brake pads on a Softail?

436,231 stops. How many are you up to?

It is all in how the driver stops. Do you down shift? Do you stop with the rear brake also? Do you ride a passenger? Do you slam on the brakes at the last second? I would say in my experience about 10,000 miles would be an average. I have seen bikes go as little as 7000 miles, and as much as 20,000 miles on a set of front pads. I am sure there are some people here that have gotten even more miles on their pads, but this is just my experience with friends and people I have worked on their bikes.

Thanks! Am going to look them up. Do you get about the same mileage on the rear brakes?
